Jeep Jamboree
The Jeep Jamboree began as an official, off-roading weekend adventure in 1953 by Mark Smith. Mark Smith took his Jeep 4X4 across the Sierra Nevada Mountains by way of the old Rubicon trail. One year later, Willys-Motors got involved, and the Jeep Jamboree because a much larger, more official tradition. Never several weekends are set aside each year for Jeep 4x4s and the people who love Jeep 4x4s for long, off-road, extra fun adventures.
The Jeep Jamboree is a family event, and everybody is welcome, from the most experienced off-roader to the newest enthusiasts. Each Jamboree is designed to be fun for every level, and for every person involved. They accept any Jeep with a 4-LO transfer case, so that means you can take your Jeep fresh from the showroom floor, or bring the highly modified Jeep that you’ve been working on for the past several years. They accept everybody, and that’s what makes the Jeep Jamboree so much fun and so unique.
There is a small fee associated with the weekend, but it is not cost-prohibitive. It also does not include the cost of shelter for the overnight trip, however, they do send you a packet that details all of the places you can stay, including hotels, motels, RV parks, and camping sites. You can choose any level of comfort and still enjoy the Jamboree. The fee does include guides, meals, a T-shirt, and access to some of the best trails in the country. All in all, the Jamboree sounds like a great experience and adventure for anybody with a Jeep 4X4.
