Jeep Safety

JeepJeeps are most often used to go off-roading like other all terrain vehicles. There is an entire subculture focused on Jeeps, driving Jeeps, off-roading with Jeeps, tricking Jeeps out, and modifying Jeeps. Jeeps are a lot of fun, and more and more people are discovering just how much fun with each year as the usage of Jeeps increases in popularity. Off-roading is increasing in popularity, too, and so even people who have not yet gone off-roading with a Jeep probably will at least once in their lives. If you do ever take a Jeep off road, then there are a few things you need to know about Jeep safety.

First, make sure you know if your Jeep is modified, and how the modifications affect the Jeep. If a Jeep is lifted, for example, then that changes the center of gravity. If you do not compensate by the change in the center of gravity, you might end up flipping the Jeep and causing yourself or others serious injury. Second, always make sure to use the proper restraints and safety belts. It might seem like more fun to bounce around the Jeep without a seatbelt, but it is far, far safer to use a safety belt. Third, never take children off-roading unless they have gone through some sort of safety course. Fourth, always make sure you bring extra water, extra food, extra blankets, and first-aid kits. You should also make sure that you have tools for your Jeep in case something breaks down. Jeep safety is paramount when you take your Jeep off-road.
